Mark Hands is a UK-based insurance professional with over 38 years of industry experience. A highly respected leader, Mark has held senior roles at top insurers including NIG and LV= Broker, and went on to found award-winning MGAs such as Mercia and Centrix Underwriting.

1987–2001: General Accident / CGU / Norwich Union – Operational & underwriting roles through multiple insurer mergers
 

2001–2009: NIG – Head of Regional Operations (North); President, Insurance Institute of Peterborough
 

2009–2017: LV= Broker – Built regional commercial book from zero; managed branches across northern England & Scotland
 

2018-2019: Mercia Underwriting – Founder & MD; brought back traditional broker service model
 

2019–2023: Centrix Underwriting – Founder & MD; 4-star MGA, award-winning startup
 

2023–2024: Aedis Group – MD & Board Advisor across construction insurance divisions
 

2024–Present: Principal Consultant at Mark Hands Consulting
